Delete your account
Last updated: July 19, 2026
You can delete your FlushMaps account at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open FlushMaps and sign in.
- Tap the profile icon in the top right, then open Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Or ask us to delete it
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email support@flushmaps.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject "Delete my FlushMaps account". We will confirm the request and delete the account within 30 days.
We may ask you to verify ownership of the email address before deleting, so that someone else cannot delete your account.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted we remove:
- Your name, email address and profile details
- Your Google sign-in link, if you used one
- Your saved toilets on that device
- Anyone you had blocked, and any blocks against you
What is kept, and why
Contributions that other people rely on stay on the map, but are disconnected from you and no longer show your name:
- Toilet listings you added — removing them would delete places other people depend on, so they remain as community listings.
- Reviews, ratings and condition updates — these are kept in anonymised form so the ratings other users see stay accurate. Your name is removed.
- Photos you uploaded — kept on the listing, no longer attributed to you.
- Contribution history — the record of what you contributed and the points earned stays attached to the anonymised account, so community totals remain accurate.
- Moderation records — if your account was involved in a safety report, we keep the minimum needed to enforce our rules and meet legal obligations.
If you want a contribution removed as well as your account, say so in your email and we will remove it where we reasonably can.
Timing
In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are actioned within 30 days. Routine encrypted backups may briefly still contain your data until they rotate out on their normal schedule; nothing is ever restored from them except to recover from an incident.
